Reporting to the Director of News and Media Relations, the Public Relations Advisor is responsible for working closely with senior executives, marketing, government relations and others to develop and execute strategic communication plans that align with and support our overall mission and vision for Wichita State University.
This position will serve as a spokesperson for WSU and will be active in planning, leading, managing, and implementing communication strategies for the University, including crisis communication, public affairs, media relations and writing/editing for print, web and social media. This position:
* Aids in the strategic direction for the development and implementation of news and new media relations, content, delivery, and coordination of communication both internally and externally.
* Seeks internal and external publicity and branding opportunities to cultivate a consistent brand identity in all aspects of public relations and communication networks.
* Monitors and measures all media coverage and reports effectiveness.
