Assistant Professor Position in Experimental Particle Physics The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, to start August 2021, in the field of direct dark matter detection. Existing faculty in the department have an ongoing research program within the LZ experiment, and the new position is intended to further expand this LZ program. Related research activities in the department include experimental high-energy collider physics, neutrinoless double beta decay and magnetic monopoles, as well as research programs in experimental astroparticle physics and theoretical high-energy physics. Preferred and Required Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are a Ph.D. or equivalent, postdoctoral experience, and a record of scholarly publications commensurate with experience. Candidates for this position are expected to have an outstanding research record and exhibit potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to develop a high quality, externally funded research program, as well as teach and mentor at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
