Xavier University of Louisiana, a historically Black and Catholic University invites applicants for a non-tenured track full-time position in the library as an Archivist for the 2020-21 academic year. The ideal candidate will have an MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program or its equivalent.
Xavier University of Louisiana is seeking someone who will contribute to the university by arranging and describing archival collections and creating finding aids. The library is interested in applicants who will promote a positive work environment, communicate effectively, and collaborate with library colleagues in identifying ways to promote library goals and initiatives. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and direction for Xavier’s Archives and Special Collections using both forward-looking and well-established techniques for managing and processing collection materials in various formats; develop a record of service, scholarship, and professional development. The successful candidate will oversee Xavier’s archives records management and research services.
