Job Description

The Division of Education and Counseling at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applicants for a tenure track position in Educational Leadership at the assistant professor level to begin fall 2021. The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and research with graduate and doctoral students. The teaching load will consist of 3 courses in the fall and 3 courses in the spring. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, minimizing barriers and increasing equity and completion rates between members of different demographic groups. Responsibilities: • Teach online and remote courses in the MA and EDD Leadership programs; • Academic advising, mentoring students; • Serve as a dissertation advisor and on dissertation committees; • Demonstrate excellence in research, with potential for securing external funding; • Participate in service activities for the department, university, and community; and • Establish a research agenda, publishing in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals related to educational leadership.
