The Department of Speech Pathology at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure track position in speech-language pathology at the assistant/(early) associate professor level beginning August 2021. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology with a focus on medically-based Speech-Language Pathology related disorders in both adult and pediatric populations including neurogenic communication disorders, dysphagia, voice, augmentative/alternative communication, and interest in other areas of speech-language pathology. The ideal candidate for the assistant/(early) associate professor position will demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and research with undergraduate and graduate students; a record of research-related activities (e.g., scholarly presentations, research publications, grant writing); and dedication to providing training and services relating to culturally and linguistically diverse populations. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide clinical supervision and support to HBCU undergraduate and graduate students through academic advising as well as mentorship. The university is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and who have demonstrated a commitment to improving access to higher education, enhancing equity and social justice.
