Position Description:
Collaborates with faculty members to determine instructional strategies, materials and assessment strategies appropriate for courses offered through Continuing and Distance Education; collaborates with ITS Educational Technology Services and other support units to elevate the quality of support and instruction; coordinates course development from inception to completion by providing design and production services to faculty including editing and placing content in the LMS; conducts course reviews of online courses with instructors to ensure that course designs align with the Quality Matters Rubric standards; and identifies gaps and needs between current hardware and software capabilities and support growth in technology-based courses.
Bachelor's degree in education, English, technical writing or related field required.
At least one year of instructional development experience in the field of distance education or online teaching with proficiency with web applications including HTML editing with Dreamweaver, and course management systems required. Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, strong attention to accuracy and detail, ability to work well with others in a team setting, and demonstrated ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced work environment also required.
