Lane Community College, a comprehensive community college in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, is seeking an innovative and participatory Biology Instructor with a passion for teaching and the ability to use teaching styles that support student success. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to teach a range of 100- and 200-level college courses for majors and non-majors. Required Education:
Master’s Degree (MA, MS or MAT) in a Biology field, or Master’s in a related field plus 30 quarter hours of upper-division and graduate hours in relevant coursework from a regionally-accredited institution of higher education.
Equivalency:
A minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent work experience in a biology laboratory and/or field setting may be considered as equivalent to 30 quarter hours of upper-division and graduate hours in biology.
Required Experience:
One (1) year college biology instruction with full responsibility for curriculum and instruction (minimum 15 quarter credits or semester equivalent).
Or
Two (2) years of college teaching experience (could be as a teaching assistant or similar role) with substantial responsibility for day-to-day curriculum and instruction. Candidates must demonstrate currency in their teaching experience.
