Job Description Summary
The individual will initiate, contribute and manage development of multiple projects and study protocols at direction of Principal Investigator. Leads research team to design and conduct qualitative research, which includes proposal development, research design, data collection, qualitative analyses, and report writing, to name a few.

Develops publications to drive funding opportunities. Responsible to train and supervise staff, interface with existing postdoctoral fellows and students in the laboratory. Develop and implement all safety procedures in the lab including drafting and implementing new SOPs and protocols for general laboratory practices, in compliance with Safety regulations. Close partnership with Principal Investigator to ensure success of all researches/clinical studies.

The successful candidate for this position will take the lead on ongoing studies in the lab focused on defining immune responses to the parasite, Leishmania, in mouse models. The individual will perform experiments that include analysis of immune responses to infection, and in particular analysis of cell responses by flow cytometry. The individual will prepare presentations on his/her work and work closely with the principal investigator to plan new experiments. The individual will aid in the creation of manuscripts on the work done and will also assist in supervising students and post-docs in the laboratory on new techniques.

This position is contingent upon grant funding

Qualifications

Experience in immunology and infectious disease research, strong background in immunology, including both knowledge base and technical skills, such as flow cytometry. Ph.D. is preferred. Individual must be able to work independently and be highly motivated.

Research Specialist B

Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Research Specialist C

Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Research Specialist D

Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
