The University of Northern Iowa’s Rod Library seeks applications for a tenure-track position as Humanities Librarian, reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Learning and Research. The Humanities Librarian is a 11 month appointment and will actively serve as liaison and collection strategist supporting multidisciplinary and humanities areas. This includes liaising with departments including but not limited to Philosophy & World Religions and Languages & Literatures. Additionally, this librarian will support multidisciplinary programs, such as Studies in Sexuality, Women, & Gender and student affairs units such as Diversity, Inclusion, & Social Justice. Liaison responsibilities include teaching in the library instruction program, supporting information literacy, providing research consultations and general reference support, and creating and maintaining online course guides and instructional media. Collection strategist responsibilities include developing and assessing collections in changing formats, participating in program reviews, and curricular consultations.
Library faculty are expected to meet tenure and promotion standards and criteria as outlined in the Library Faculty Handbook in accordance with the University Faculty Handbook. Participation in library and institutional committees and professional associations is expected, as well as ongoing research, scholarship and/or creative work, and public professional service.

ALA-accredited Master's degree in library or information science or international equivalent required.
Demonstrated interest in teaching and library instruction; demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; demonstrated willingness and ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with coworkers, the campus community, and across disciplines; and excellent oral and written communication skills required.
