Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the processes of risk management and loss prevention in all aspects of the College. Analyze risk exposure, and establish procedures for safety and emergencies, as well as financial, legal, contractual, and insurance needs. Develops, implements, and manages programs on safety, insurance, liability, workers' compensation, unemployment, contractual process, and all related policies and procedures for the College. Evaluate loss prevention programs based on their benefit to the College and the opportunity for human loss, financial loss or loss of reputation and make appropriate recommendations. Interaction with a wide variety of programs, property, personnel, legal counsel, advisors, and other departments within the College.
Plan, organize, lead and control all Risk Management activities.Develop and maintain departmental budget.Coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive Risk Management Program for College of DuPage, including setting goals and objectives for the Risk Management Program, identifying and analyzing perils, risks and hazards to which the College, its employees, students, volunteers, general public and/or property may be exposed.In addition, determine the most effective methods of handling each risk exposure, and conduct an annual review (procedures to measure the effectiveness and performance) of the organization's Risk Management Program.Evaluate major loss exposures in terms of past experience and potential frequency and severity to establish priorities and methods for treating discovered risk exposure.Advise the Vice President of Administrative Affairs on methods for addressing risks.Recommend the appropriate assignment of responsibility for the organization's risk management functions.Establish and maintain a liaison role with College of DuPage administration and staff.Identify all positions within the College that require safety training.Responsible for adherence to all safety laws and codes, safety training programs, safety plans, work procedures, and audits.Coordinate the creation of risk management policies, programs and procedures, which includes developing safety and loss control programs and procedures.Maintain safety/accident records and statistics.Maintain and update college web site concerning safety information.Coordinate all risk management activities with college's outside legal counsel.Responsible for college contracting process related to risk management and indemnity issues.Chair an interdisciplinary Health and Safety Committee that reviews health and safety concerns, and recommends remedial action to the Vice President of Administrative Affairs, the Cabinet, and/or the Board of Trustees.Establish and manage relationships with various risk management and insurance consultants and vendors, including the College's broker or agent.Coordinate the process of applying for an renewing insurance coverage consistent with the risk financing goals and objectives developed in concert with the Health and Safety Committee.Perform other related job duties as required.

Working knowledge of all Environmental Health and Safety monitoring equipment.On call for emergencies.This position requires a background check and drug screen.

Hiring Range:
13 Salary/Starting salary beginning at $84,672 based on experience and education
Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
