Job Description
Position Title: Groundskeeper Part-time Department Grounds & Operations FLSA Non-Exempt Job Summary
- Assists with the maintenance of university grounds, parking lots, streets, and athletic fields by mowing, landscaping, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, and patching with the aid of grounds maintenance equipment; including tractors, backhoes, skid loaders, dump trucks, and snow removal equipment; and picks up trash on grounds and streets and empties exterior campus waste receptacles.
- Picks up trash on grounds and streets; and empties exterior campus waste receptacles.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
- High School Diploma or GED; and grounds keeping experience.
- Experience driving large equipment.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Able to operate mowing and turf equipment.
- Knowledge of operating heavy equipment, tractors, dump trucks, and skid loaders.
- Able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Able to operate a weed eater, chain saw, blowers, and other hand power tools.
- Able to pick up trash, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work outside in the heat and cold.
- Good communication skills and safety minded.
Physical Demands Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
