This tenure track faculty member will have research and teaching expertise in Photovoltaic (PV) Materials applications and related Mechanical Engineering areas to synergistically strengthen current departmental research and teaching activities. The individual selected for this position will work with researchers in the CSU Next Generation Photovoltaics (NGPV) Center and will lead the computational modeling research initiatives associated with thin-film photovoltaic technologies.
Specific areas of interest for this faculty member may include:
• Computational models that accurately predict structural and electronic properties of thin-film PV surfaces and interfaces
• Development of device modeling tools that optimize thin-film PV device processing and facilitate higher efficiencies in thin-film PV device configurations
• Materials selection and device processing optimization suitable for improved thin-film PV device efficiencies
• Validation of simulation models with experimental thin-film PV devices
This faculty position is a full-time, nine month appointment. Successful candidates will be expected to build and maintain a strong, internationally recognized research program supported through external funding, to enhance the Department’s educational programs, and to provide service to the University and broader community. This faculty member will teach courses in our mechanical engineering curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and develop advanced courses in their areas of expertise.
