Job Summary
The Graduate School of Counseling (GSC) seeks a full-time core faculty position in the CACREP-aligned Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling (MTC) Department beginning July 1, 2025. This role is eligible for remote professors who travel to Naropa for in-person instruction (Intensives) and potential meetings each term or may be individual who resides and teaches locally in-person on campus in the residential program or virtually as part of our low-residency program. In addition to demonstrated capacity to teach in the specialty areas of transpersonal counseling/psychology and mindfulness-based approaches to counseling, applicants would be able to teach in some of the following core areas: social and multicultural foundations, Gestalt, human growth and development, counseling and helping relationships, group therapy, assessment, research and program evaluation, psychopathology, professional counseling orientation and ethical practice, practicum, and internship. Since the role may involve teaching across both our residential and low-residency programs, expertise and experience in online education are valued.
The job includes administrative duties for the MTC Department, the Graduate School of Counseling and Psychology (GSC) and the university, including but not limited to recruitment and admissions, networking within the field of mindfulness-based transpersonal counseling, student assessment, and active engagement in the leadership of the Office of Academic Affairs.
Qualified applicants must be able to demonstrate consistent success in negotiating the pedagogical, clinical, research, administrative, and collaborative responsibilities of a faculty appointment within the degree program, within the Graduate School of Counseling (GSC), and within the structure of the university at large.

Faculty members spend most of their time in their classrooms or in virtual meetings with some time in offices. In the classrooms and on campus may experience interruptions, distractions, heat, cold, dust and/or dampness. As a faculty member, you may spend extended periods in front of students and speaking as well as:

Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa's retirement plan only, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.
All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff, including student workers, accrue sick leave benefits. Full-time and part-time staff positions accrue vacation and personal time. All leave accrual rates vary based on the position, hours worked, and years of service.
