The division of Human Development and Quantitative Methods at The University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks nominees and applicants for a lecturer position in the area of school and mental health counseling. The successful applicant would help provide leadership in our school and mental health counseling programs and teach core courses such as counseling theory and interventions, ethics, assessment and diagnosis, and career counseling. He/she would help with the management of our practica and internship placements, and contribute to our student recruitment and advising efforts.
This appointment will be for one academic year and can be renewed twice for a total of three years , contingent upon a satisfactory performance evaluation after each year. We will begin reviewing applications on May 1, 2025, and will continue to consider new applications until the position is filled. We intend to fill the position prior to the upcoming academic year.
Qualifications
Competitive candidates for the position must show a strong background in graduate-level teaching and advising and have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in the counseling field; a record of peer-reviewed publication, particularly focused on counseling practice and research, is preferred but not required. Applicants must have earned a doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology, counselor education, or a related field. Licensure as a professional counselor (LPC or LMHC) or psychologist is required, with the LPC license preferred; school counseling certification also is preferred but not required.
