The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Molecular Genetic Pathology and independent/collaborative research. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. American Board of Pathology, AP, AP/CP or CP and molecular genetic pathology.

Teaching responsibilities may include medical students, residents, fellows and post-doctoral students.

Clinical responsibilities may include relevant experience in cancer genomics, personalized diagnostics, broad molecular diagnostic testing (clinical areas and methods), clinical assay development, high-throughput sequencing, bioinformatics, as well as a strong customer service orientation and leadership experience.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include development of an independent or highly collaborative research program (as PI, Co-PI or Co-I) in the area of molecular and genomic pathology.

Responsibilities will include an administrative role including system-level leadership across Penn Medicine's 6 health system entities for molecular pathology and genomic medicine, attending on the NGS and/or Molecular Pathology service, assay development. The Division of Precision and Computational Diagnostics offers an expanding menu of clinical testing for classical molecular pathology infectious disease, germline and somatic testing, NGS-based testing for hematological and solid tumor malignancies, and cancer cytogenetics. The Perelman School of Medicine is known for its emphasis on translational research. The primary practice location is the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine has made major investments in next-generation sequencing-based molecular diagnostics and has a deep partnership with the Abramson Cancer Center.
