The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of fundamental properties of neural networks, neuroplasticity, and the application of computational techniques to interrogate brain circuitry in psychiatric disorders. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include seminars in prediction models for graduate students, residents and post-doctoral fellows. Additionally there may be mentoring of graduate students, post-docs and junior faculty.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include substantial experience in the field of neuroimaging and interest in contributing to projects that incorporate neuromodulatory strategies, in particular Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Other techniques such as ECT, VNS, biofeedback with a focus on task-based and resting state fMRI are also of interest, particularly in conjunction with TMS.

The goal of this position is the development of prognostic biomarkers and treatment targets through understanding the underlying pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric disorders. The candidate must have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research in neuroimaging, neuromodulatory techniques, cognitive neuroscience and/or translational research.
