The Director of Communications has primary leadership responsibilities for creating and implementing a strategy to advance the College’s brand through strategic communications including the college’s marketing, internal and external communications, public and media relations, website content, social media content, print and digital media. This position will be responsible for supervision, strategic alignment and coordination of communications staff in the college.
The director will be a visionary leader who will skillfully craft the college’s messaging and storytelling efforts. They will be an individual who takes initiative and develops trust and confidence within the College of Agricultural Sciences, across campus, and among CSU’s external constituencies. They must uphold the utmost professional discretion, as they will often have to work with sensitive and confidential information. They will be expected to interface with a breadth of internal and external partners to develop networks, promote the CAS/AES brand and build mutually beneficial strategies. This position will also possess the demonstrated ability to independently plan, implement, manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively coordinate teams and leverage support across reporting lines. They will have the energy, drive and enthusiasm to think strategically, to solve problems creatively and to recognize and seize opportunities quickly. This individual will thrive in an often changing, dynamic, customer-service oriented environment where they will have a high degree of flexibility and accountability.
