Job Description
The Department of Design and Merchandising seeks applications for Spring 2021 part time, adjunct instructor(s) to teach one or more courses in the Interior Architecture and Design Program. Responsibilities may include teaching required undergraduate courses, serving internship coordinator and/or industry liaison. It is anticipated that this position would allow for remote work (if desired) and the possibility for continuation through additional semesters based on department and program needs.
Teaching Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
INTD 129 Introduction to Interior Design
This course focuses on introducing students to the profession, including an emphasis on elements and principles of design.
Academic advising for undergraduate interior architecture and design students
Internship Coordinator/Industry Liaison responsibilities may include the following:
Develop internship MOUs with local, national, and international firms
Guide students during the internship search and placement
Administer for-credit internship experiences for student in the IAD program.
Maintain and develop new relationships with industry partners (beyond internships)
Coordinate planning for the Interior Architecture and Design end-of-year Showcase
