The VIctor Valley College is pleased to announce the search for Part-Time Class B Instructors for the School of Public Safety and Industrial Technology Division (PSIT) within the Short Term Non-Credit Program. Non-credit courses are designed to meet the needs of students on the college campus. As a part-time instructor you will provide access to diverse communities and students seeking educational opportunities to achieve and advance personal goals, career preparation, and professional development. This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time faculty (up to 67%) or temporary substitute assignments on an as needed basis.

Departments or Divisions will refer to the pool of applications on file, as needed, to fill temporary assignments.
Applicants will remain in the pool for 12 months
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS in accordance with Title 5, Section 53412, Minimum Qualifications for Instructors of Noncredit Courses:
Any bachelor's degree or higher and two (2) years of occupational experience, or any associate degree and six (6) years of occupational experience, OR the equivalent.
Must have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
To obtain equivalency a minimum fifteen (15) years work experience in the field is required. Mastery of skills in the vocation must be shown and provided in your application.
Additionally, a combination of coursework and experience in the field may be combined to meet the minimum qualifications through equivalency.

The number of part-time faculty hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application will be maintained in this part-time faculty pool for 12 months.

Victor Valley College is a progressive and innovative two-year community college serving approximately 10,000 students in the scenic high desert region of southern California. The college core surrounds a man-made lake which is the focal point for academic contemplation and student activities.
