College/Department Information

Testing & Disability Services is a unit of the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs. Our office provides a reliable, convenient, and accessible location for students, faculty, staff, and members of the community to obtain a variety of services at Augusta University. Our mission is to ensure that all qualified students with disabilities receive equal access to educational opportunities. We also provide a location for all interested parties to receive and participate in standardized testing related to the pursuit of an education and career advancement.

Job Summary

Primarily assists Testing and Disability Services with the operation of the health sciences office in the Greenblatt Library. Includes answering phones and emails, scheduling appointments, and greeting students and guests. Provides direct assistance and schedules testing appointments for both faculty and students. This position is responsible for supervising accommodated tests for students with disabilities most often on the health sciences campus. This position is responsible for coordinating test dates and test times with faculty and for converting tests into accessible formats when necessary.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

 



COORDINATRE TESTING CENTER: Coordinates, schedules, proctor exams and test supervision (which requires certification with specific test companies) in addition to all students using the Disability Testing Center for Health Sciences students in the Greenblatt Library. Coordinate testing and other needs of students with disabilities with faculty and academic departments. Reformat exams and other academic materials for exams and academic requirements using assistive technology. Assists with test proctoring and test supervision (which requires certification with specific test companies/vendors).

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: Maintains student and administrative files. Prepares correspondence and other materials for Director and other staff. Answers the phone and vanity email account(s), manages student, faculty, and general correspondence, schedules appointments, and assists with general questions related to disability services and tests supervised.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Greets and assists customers both internal and external. Listens and assists all students with any problems that may arise which affect testing accommodations and determine the best possible solution while providing the best customer service. Provides customer service support to all faculty as it applies to the student body, makes our office accessible to all students and faculty. Schedules appointments as needed for Director, Assistant Director, and Disability Service Specialists and Disability Coordinator for students, faculty, and the general public both internal and external.

PROVIDE TRAINING & SUPERVISION OF STUDENT WORKERS: Provides training and supervision of student workers in both locations of Testing and Disability Services. This includes coordinating with Financial Aid and Career Services to meet required financial management, Federal Work Study and Student Worker regulations, and entering and maintenance of required information into PeopleSoft regarding. Complete all hiring of Federal Work Study and Student Workers including, but not limited to, posting, hiring, training, scheduling, assigning tasks, as well as completing terminations, raises, performance evaluations, etc.

OTHER DUTIES: Assists Director, Assistant Director, and other staff with other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field OR High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and at least three years of experience in office support positions.

 



Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education preferred.

The person in this position will interact with students, both with and without disabilities, on a daily basis. There will be frequent interaction with parents, faculty and staff. Interactions will focus on providing assistance with appointments and to coordinate test needs with students and faculty.

 



Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday

Pay Band: B3

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
