In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Essential Job Duties

Essential Job Duties



Key Responsibilities

Maintains and monitors a university-wide inventory/database of supplies, chemicals, etc. needed for research activities of the faculty. Prepares and orders new supplies as needed.



Key Responsibilities

Prepares labels, and stores reagents in appropriate manner for use by research faculty.
 



Key Responsibilities

Inspects research facilities for compliance with regulations and guidelines pertaining to the use, handling, and disposal of potential biohazards and recombinant DNA; coordinates the review and investigation of all biosafety accidents occurring on University campuses, and develops corrective action plans.



Key Responsibilities

Participates in and provides leadership to various internal committees and task forces, such as the Biosafety Committee, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee; actively participates in external professional meetings and organizations.



Key Responsibilities

Serves as principal source of expertise to the University regarding appropriate equipment, facilities, and work practices for protecting laboratories, staff, and the environment from contamination and infectious organisms.

Maintains laboratory equipment in general working order. Notifies research faculty of major equipment problems.

Trains student, staff and faculty researchers
