Academic Counselor - R.I.S.E. Program
MCCC Unit Professional position, Grade 5, 12-month position
Campus Location: Danvers and Lynn Campus, 4 days on site, 1 day remote (telework is subject to change based on the needs of the department and/or College). There may be some evenings or weekends.
SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $70,929.00 - $74,543.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Academic Counselor for the R.I.S.E. program provides wraparound support services for our marginalized student populations, including but not limited to Black and Latino/a students, first-generation and low-income (FGLI), part-time and/or LGBTQ+ students. The Academic Counselor provides equitable (e.g., developmental and appreciative, based on student and situation) advising to a caseload of 225 - 275 students who are part of the R.I.S.E. Cohort to integrate their academic, personal, career and transfer goals. This role is part of the Student Support and Advising Center services offered on each campus. Works one-on-one and in group advising sessions at Registration Events for general, high-risk and affinity groups. Responsible for assigned hours in the Student Support and Advising Centers, other locations (on and off NSCC sites) and via technology.
