Job Description

 

Visiting Assistant Professor or Lecturer is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

  • Teach introductory sections of U.S. government & politics
  • Scholarly research and publication in their areas of interest

Preferred and Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Political Science or Public Policy is required for the rank of a Visiting Assistant Professor. Alternatively, a master’s in Political Science or Public Policy is required for the rank of Visiting Assistant Lecturer. The follow skills are crucial for success within the position: 

  • excellent teaching skills
  • competent research skills
  • political scientific knowledge about political institutions and processes
