Human Resource Assistant - PT

The Human Resources Assistant is a public-facing position that will provide general administrative support to the Human Resource department. Some duties include answering phones, filing, document preparation and the utilization of Microsoft Office Suite, which includes creating and working with spreadsheets. This position will also be responsible for disseminating information to staff and the general public as necessary. Additional duties include offering assistance to any visitors and if necessary, referring them to the proper office or individual, assisting with hiring and onboarding of staff as well as entering information into databases. The Human Resources Assistant will also coordinate appointments for department personnel and assist with other duties and projects as necessary. This position is in a fast-paced office environment.

Job Requirements:
Experience Required: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and 2 years of office experience involving contact with the public. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite

Experience Preferred: The department seeks a knowledgeable and detail-oriented person to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other departments. Knowledge of office procedures; proficiency in the use of email and the Microsoft Office Suite; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to understand and follow written and oral directions; ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments; ability to work under general supervision and as a member of a team; Must have the ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Prior work in Human Resources.

Position begins ASAP

Hours: Monday - Friday 9-3 (1/2 hr unpaid lunch). Hours may vary based on department needs. May require occasional travel to the Newburgh Campus as needed.

Salary: $25-$27 per hour for no more than 29 hours per week.
