Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno seeks a dynamic, high-energy, visionary leader for the School of Community Health Sciences in Nevada's oldest institution of higher education and the state's land-grant leader in teaching, research, and statewide outreach. This position reports to the Executive Vice President & Provost and works collaboratively with all the other deans on campus. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2021.
The School of Community Health Sciences was established in 2004 and blends cutting-edge research in public health with dedicated community service opportunities. The school has experienced substantial growth in student enrollment, research and program expenditures (~$32m), and faculty expansion over recent years. We anticipate receiving accreditation as a full School of Public Health in 2021.
The School offers accredited public health degrees including: BS in Community Health Sciences (Kinesiology and Public Health); MPH (Social and Behavioral Health, Epidemiology, Health Administration and Policy, Public Health Practice - online); MS (Biostatistics and Kinesiology), PhD (Public Health, Social and Behavioral Health and Epidemiology); MD/MPH; and undergraduate minor and grad/undergrad certificates in Addiction Treatment Services. We have a diverse body of 2,000 undergraduate students, 270 graduate students, 41 academic faculty, 146 administrative faculty, and 53 staff members.
The School's academic programs, research, and specialty centers train students and generate grants and contracts that fund research and service activities that address workforce development, health disparities, environmental health, biostatistics, addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery, and epidemiology in public and community health.

Total Compensation
The total compensation package includes a negotiable competitive salary, moving expenses (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, long-term disability, annual and sick leave, along with many other benefits. Additionally, there is a grant-in-aid educational benefit for faculty and dependents.
