Job Description Summary
The research assistant will work with the team on an ongoing research project that aims to help improve head and neck cancer survivors on their lymphedema management.
Job Description
The research assistant will report to the PI to ensure timely and accurate data collection and management. They will be responsible for conducting recruitment and screening activities; collecting data; entering detailed patient data into a database program, filing, preparing data packets for research subjects, handling requests for outside medical records, assisting in subject follow-up via phone and mail, scheduling research subject in-person and virtual study visits, and administrative support such as administering surveys, scheduling meetings, and creating mailing lists.
Job Responsibilities
1) Conducts recruitment and screening related activities for study participants; determines eligibility.
2) Collects data from study participants, medical records, and nursing staff. Scans data into project database. Maintains correspondence and organized study files.
3) Conducts medical chart reviews & determine eligibility
4) Administer surveys
5) Participates in project team meetings to problem solve follow-up challenges with the intent to improve the quality of data obtained.
6) Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
High School Grad/GE Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of community and project experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience in healthcare or an academic research setting preferred. Strong interpersonal skills required; ability to work independently as well as part of a large interdisciplinary research team. Experience working with a diverse population and explaining a complex study in lay terms is required. Knowledge of health care settings and IRB requirements, is strongly desired. Solid organizational skills essential. Prior experience with research protocols, data analysis and conducting quantitative interviews with human subjects needed. Knowledge of electronic medical records and proficiency with MS Office suite needed; Candidate must be organized and able to prioritize. Candidate must be able to work independently, creatively problem solve and multi-task.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
