Position Title: Placement Testing Center Assistant Temporary Pool

Additional Information: Please note: If you are a PSERS retiree, per PSERS guidelines, employment by the College as an adjunct faculty member will result in the suspension of your retirement benefits by PSERS. This is a temporary part-time 25 hours/week position with option for medical benefits at full employee cost.

Work hours (for hourly positions): Consists of a 25-hour workweek Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Actual working hours to be determined at the onset of employment. This position will require working evenings and Saturdays.

Hourly Wage: $22.00/hour

General Summary: The Placement Testing Center Assistant serves as the primary placement test proctor and oversees the testing center during posted hours of operation. This assistant performs all duties related to test administration and coordination of the testing center.
In addition, this specialist will provide administrative support as needed for the enrollment services area as needed.


Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education and/or ExperienceRequired1. High School Diploma2. Minimum of two years previous student service or customer service experience.3. Ability to work with students of all abilities
Preferred1. Associate degree from an accredited college or university.2. At least one-year experience in a higher education or testing environment.3. Prior experience working with a diverse population
Communication Skills Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Accuplacer or other administrative software a plus.
Other Skills and AbilitiesExcellent communication and public speaking skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with people. Excellent written communication skills especially in the areas of report writing and business correspondence. Knowledge of the Community College and Higher Education system.

Duties:
Placement Testing Center Duties1. Perform day-to-day coordination of all placement testing center activities.2. Assist with coordination of the placement-testing schedule with Director of Placement Testing.3. Communicate any changes to testing schedule with the enrollment services staff.4. Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the test environment.5. Act as the primary proctor at designated testing site.6. Maintain records, process scores, and produce reports as needed.7. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Placement Testing.
Enrollment Services Duties1. Provide administrative support and coverage at reception area when possible.2. Support enrollment services by inputting data and student applications in the Ellucian Information System.3. Provide excellent student and customer service by answering questions from visitors and callers.4. Be responsible for understanding of the new student enrollment process to direct student issues in a timely and professional manner.

Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check. The College has provided instructions on how to obtain these clearances and are available here.
