The School of Applied Sciences and Arts, with the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, invites applications for a Sociology Instructor position for the 2025-2026 academic year. This role will support our integrative approach to social science education. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and enhancing our curriculum that integrates sociology into other social sciences. The successful candidate will teach sociology courses on campus, prepare class materials, evaluate student work, hold office hours to assist students, review and evaluate effectiveness of teaching methods, and work with faculty in curriculum development.
Course assignments may occur in a variety of modalities (online, in-person, hybrid) on the Polytechnic campus. The workload consists of five classes per semester.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-eligible position renewable on an academic year basis contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Candidate must reside in Arizona or be willing to relocate.
The School of Applied Sciences and Arts (SASA) delivers science and liberal arts courses to students from all majors at the Polytechnic and Downtown campuses. Over 170 faculty serve over 4,400 majors in career-focused applied-learning programs, ranging from undergraduate applied biology majors in pre-vet, pre-dental, and horticulture programs to majors in interdisciplinary studies, the history of science, technology, and innovation, and STS (science, technology, and society). Our students also pursue graduate work in Applied Biology, Liberal Studies, Narrative Studies, and Integrative Social Sciences. SASA is the proud home of one of the nation’s first degrees in Military and Veterans Studies, and we are committed to the robust support of veteran and military-affiliated students through our Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement (OVMAE).
