Bus Driver (Part-time)

Job Description:
A Bus Driver for Manhattanville's University's Campus Safety Department is charged with safely transporting students, faculty, and staff on the University's campus and designated locations the tri-state area. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and adherence to scheduled routes and times.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of passengers
  • Maintain clean vehicle
  • Verify that the bus is always in proper working condition
  • Determine safe and efficient routes
  • Maintain all records as required
  • Perform the following duties pre-trip: Inspection of the bus and equipment; Fueling; Cleaning of the vehicle's interior; Fluids check; Tire pressure check


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment


Qualifications:

  • Possess
    • A valid New York State Commercial Driver License with: Class B; Passenger endorsement; Air brake endorsement (preferred)

    OR

  • A valid Connecticut Commercial Driver License with: Class B; Passenger endorsement; F endorsement (Motor bus/Motor coach)
  • Have a clean driving record
  • Pass USDOT Medical Exam
  • Have a reliable cell phone to communicate with trip contact person


Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience driving large buses

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times

Salary:
The salary for this position is $18 per hour.

Hours Expectation:
Part-time (seasonal per diem)

Be flexible and able to work weekends
