Commonwealth Interactive Gaming Assessment Project Manager
The Commonwealth Interactive Gaming Assessment Project Manager will oversee the Commonwealth Interactive Gaming Assessment Project housed within the Greater Philadelphia Office of the Criminal Justice Research Center on the Pennsylvania State University's Abington Campus. This project is a yearly assessment of the impact of interactive gaming on compulsive and problem gambling and gambling addiction in this Commonwealth.
The assessment utilizes data from a probability telephone survey, conducted by Penn State personnel. At the conclusion of the data collection effort, a report using weighted data will be developed and submitted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The role of the Project Manager is to oversee the day-to-day management of the project, coordinate project meetings, liaise with the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs Personnel, coordinate data collection and transfer with the Social Science Research Institute, conduct statistical analyses using the survey data, assist with report and other publication preparation, deliver presentations on the project, and develop opportunities to expand the impacts of this project. This may include management of research assistants. Some travel may be required to coordinate these efforts.
Position Requirements
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree Preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative and statistical analyses, including geospatial statistical analyses, with the ability to effectively visualize and communicate results. Experience with project management is required. Candidates must have strong writing and research skills, with demonstrated experience writing in academic and policy-oriented arenas. Content familiarity with criminal justice, criminology, gaming and problem gaming, and/or addiction is preferred, but not required. In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
