Job Description

GRINNELL COLLEGE. The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a one-year term contract with the possibility of renewal appointment in the area of Ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, beginning Fall 2025. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD) or Associate Professor possible. Research and teaching interests must include Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy. The candidate must be able to teach the History of Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy, and contribute one course to the Classics Department, either (preferably) in Greek or Latin, or in translation, as well as teach three other courses including Introduction to Philosophy and Logic. Term contract renewals are subject to departmental and college priorities and budget availability.
