Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of obstetrics & gynecology and maternal fetal medicine with a focus on prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy as well as demonstrated leadership in this field. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or hold equivalent certification.
Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic education of medical students, residents and fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include activities centering on prenatal diagnosis and counseling, fetal surgical interventions and the management and delivery of pregnancies complicated by congenital anomalies in the Garbose Family Special Delivery Unit at CHOP.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical studies in the area of prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy or related fields.
The successful applicant will be named Chief of the Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Department of Surgery at CHOP, and Obstetrics Director of the Richard D. Wood Jr. Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment, which is the largest fetal diagnosis and treatment center in the world. They will also hold Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's George Leib Harrison Endowed Chair in Fetal Therapy. This position will be housed in the Richard D. Wood Jr. Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment, administered by the Department of Surgery at CHOP. We are recognized as a world class fetal diagnosis & treatment center and a pioneer in the development of new fetal and therapeutic procedures.
