Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership
Oversee curriculum development and academic quality across undergraduate and graduate programs in education.
Lead initiatives to enhance academic programs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
Collaborate with college and university leadership to set and achieve enrollment goals for education programs.
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of the school's goals and priorities, in alignment with the university's strategic plan.
Represent Carroll University at regional and state meetings including DPI and Wisconsin Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (WACTE).
Coordinate with SEHS Coordinator and Registrar's office on timetable and catalog updates.
May teach up to 4 credits an academic year, based on departmental needs and expertise, ensuring a continued connection to students and academic life.
Faculty Development and Support
Mentor and support faculty in teaching, service, and professional and scholarly activity.
Supervise and collaborate with faculty to set academic goals, promote research initiatives, and encourage participation in professional development.
Oversee faculty recruitment, retention, and annual faculty evaluation.
Manage faculty workloads and resolve any staffing challenges.
Facilitate department meetings with faculty, program staff and adjuncts as needed.
Accreditation and Assessment
Provide leadership and oversee all activities related to Department of Public Instruction (DPI) accreditation.
Serve as liaison with DPI licensure division including monthly meetings, accreditation reports and visits, updating the Department of Education on legislative changes.
Oversee department assessment and collaborate with the EDU Program Coordinator and faculty to ensure alignment with PI 34 and other education policies. Ensure that required annual federal (e.g. Title II), state, and campus reporting is completed.
Collaborate with the Leadership and Organizational Development department on accreditation reports (Continuous Review, Appendix A and Appendix B).
Provide leadership in the preparation and oversight of university assessment reports.
Oversee program assessment systems.
Strategic Planning and Resource Allocation
Collaborate with the Dean to develop long-term strategies for the department, aligning with university goals and the broader educational landscape.
Lead strategic initiatives related to program growth, student success, and faculty development.
Manage the departmental budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support faculty, students, and program initiatives.
Recruitment, Student Retention and Success:
Collaborate with Marketing and Communications, and Admissions recruitment teams to grow enrollment in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
Participate in outreach efforts, recruitment events, and marketing strategies to promote the department's programs.
Develop strategies to support student retention, progression, and graduation, particularly for underrepresented groups.
Oversee academic advising and assign EDU mentors to ensure that students have access to appropriate support services.
Address student concerns or grievances, fostering a culture of open communication and support.
Collaboration and Community Engagement
Represent the department at university-wide committees, task forces, and strategic planning groups.
Build relationships with local school districts and educational organizations to strengthen pipelines for student recruitment and employment.
Develop partnerships with schools, educational organizations, and community groups to enhance field experiences, internships, and professional development for students.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
Doctoral degree in Education required.
Demonstrated expertise appropriate for appointment as an Associate Professor of Professor
Experience with discipline specific and Higher Learning Commission accreditation activities
Experience in new academic program development
Experience with academic program and student learning assessment
Demonstrated excellence in written communication
History of leadership and/or mentoring roles
Human Relation Skills:
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, organize work and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment

Compliance:
Employees may be required to report violations of law under Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).
