Position Reports to: Director of the Occupational Therapy Program and Dean of Graduate, Digital, and Continued Learning

The University of Mount Union invites applications for the Open Rank Faculty Member position for the developing Master of Occupational Therapy Program. This is a 12-month appointment. The program is designed as a low-residency hybrid program providing flexibility to students and faculty. However, there are on-campus requirements for faculty regularly.

The primary responsibility for this role is teaching in the MSOT program. Faculty members will be responsible for developing instructional materials and content for immersive experiences. Faculty have opportunities for building an academic career involving teaching, collaboration, professional growth, and scholarship. Additional ongoing duties include student mentoring, advising, curriculum development and evaluation, participation in program admissions and assessment processes, departmental and university service (as needed).




Preferred and Required Qualifications


Qualifications

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist; preference will be given to those with clinical experience in neuro, adult, and/or geriatric practice
  • Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in a hybrid or online learning environment.
  • Scholarly activity, preferred


Licensure, Certification, Memberships:

  • Current or eligible for Ohio occupational therapist license
  • Current NBCOT certification
  • Current AOTA membership


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Commitment to the University of Mount Union mission and MSOT program mission
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong technology skills (D2L (preferred), MS Office, Simucase, EHR,etc.)
  • Knowledge of ACOTE standards related to program administration, teaching, and fieldwork requirements
  • Current practice knowledge in the field of occupational therapy
  • Ability to work collaboratively and inter-professionally
  • Proficient English communication skills (reading, writing)
  • Able to maintain highest levels of confidentiality
  • Respect for individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Ability to represent the program and university in a positive and professional manner Physical ability to assist in learning labs, demonstrate applicable skills to students, lift and/or move 25-50 pounds, use equipment necessary to train students, sit or stand for extended periods and do so safely across environments.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required
  • Doctoral degree preferred
  • This position is required to complete assigned University compliance training as communicated by the University.
