Job Description

The department of Justice Studies is seeking an adjunct to teach in the Criminal Justice Department. This is a part-time non-tenure track position within the Department of Justice Studies. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate course(s), hold office hours, grade papers, mentor students and adhere to the University standards in teaching, research and service. Teaching assignments may include day, night or weekend classes.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses one or more courses as needed.
  • Keep records, post grads (mid-term & final, submit attendance reporting, mentor students and other university/department teaching expectations).
  • Post and maintain regular office hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department head.



Required Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in criminal justice or related discipline.
  • One year of experience required.



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Criminal Justice or Social Sciences.



Other:

  • Flexible to suit course schedule.
  • Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes.
