Position Summary
Position Title: Grant Coordinator, SAMHSA Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Campus Suicide Prevention Program

Reporting to: Director of Health & Wellness

Position Summary:
The Grant Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Health & Wellness and will oversee the implementation and daily operations of the SAMHSA Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Campus Suicide Prevention Program. This grant aims to enhance mental health and suicide prevention services for all Albertus Magnus College students by supporting comprehensive public health and evidence-based approaches. Furthermore, services and training brought to Albertus Magnus via this grant will help to break down students' barriers to treatment, expand students' options for care, and offer staff, faculty, and students robust mental health training opportunities to better identify mental health issues in students and effectively respond.

The Grant Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Health & Wellness to administrate/manage all aspects of the SAMHSA Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Campus Suicide Prevention Program on campus, including attending grant-related meetings, taking meeting minutes and communicating important information; schedule events and training opportunities for the campus community; coordinate and serve as the liaison to community partners; maintain the grant budget; manage the day-to-day implementation of various mental health projects and services brought to campus through the grant.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize yourself with the College's original SAMHSA grant proposal, key goals and objectives, and the Notice of Award, paying close attention to due dates and deadlines to make sure we always remain in compliance.
  • Develop and communicate a detailed timeline for grant-related activities and implementation of services.
  • Communicate with the SOAR Leadership team on key aspects of the grant to facilitate the implementation of various grant-related initiatives and services.
  • Familiarize yourself with the various online reporting systems for the Grant: SPARS and eRA Commons.
  • Attend any grant-related meetings, scheduled webinars, and other training sessions required by the grantee, take notes during the meetings, and communicate them to the SOAR leadership team.
  • Provide general oversight and coordination of grant objectives, including training programs for our campus community.
  • Maintain the grant's budget and monies spent, including organizing receipts and invoices.
  • Manage Google folder and email for all grant-related activities.
  • Work with other departments on campus, including marketing and IT, to help with the marketing and rollout of key grant initiatives.
  • Help to manage the schedule of telehealth rooms.
  • Be the campus liaison with outside providers and vendors as it relates to the grant.
  • Participate in and assist in the development of campus-wide promotional events (e.g., tabling, raffles, etc.) to promote the various grant-sponsored programs available to staff, faculty, and students (MHFA, QPR, The Connections, JED, Kognito, etc.).
  • Provide administrative support to the Health and Wellness Team through chart maintenance, health record tracking, communicating with incoming students and families, and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • A successful track record of managing a grant-funded project or program, including managing budgets and tracking financial expenditures, gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports, is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities


Education:
High School Diploma or higher

Experience:
1-2 years of related professional experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical proficiency in computer and software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Google Docs, and Google Sheets, is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Canva and PowerPoint.


Working Conditions:
This is a 10-month, 20-hour-a-week position with traditional office hours M-F, 8:30 am—4:30 pm, no weekends. A flexible schedule is available.

This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to speak in group settings. The SAMHSA grant runs through 09-29-2025. Continuation beyond that date is not guaranteed. The college offers a competitive salary, but no benefits are associated with this position.
