Coastline College, a community college located just outside of Los Angeles in Orange County, California, has been an innovative leader in traditional and non-traditional delivery of education since its birth in 1976. Coastline College has campuses in Westminster, Garden Grove and Newport Beach and an administration building in Fountain Valley, California, United States. The college is part of the Coast Community College District. Its sister colleges are Orange Coast College (in Costa Mesa) and Golden West College (in Huntington Beach). The college is part of the California Community College system, which includes a total of 116 community colleges statewide.

Non-academic, non-classified Student Assistants are not part of the classified service.
The Education Code prohibits displacement of classified personnel and impairment of existing contracts by either the employment of full-time or part-time students in any college work-study program or in a work experience education program. Student Assistants are at-will employees, have no entitlement rights to any position in the District, and are not benefits eligible.
