Assistant Athletic Trainer
Department: Special Projects-120010
Minimum Qualifications
BOC Certification
Eligible for state licensure by the State of North Carolina Board of Athletic Training
Bachelor's degree required;
License/Certification Required
BOC Certification
Eligible for state licensure by the State of North Carolina Board of Athletic Training
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred
One to three years experience in athletic training after certification or a Master's degree
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Athletic Trainer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prevention, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for the Women's Basketball program
- Daily athletic training room operations
- Coverage of events and practices for Women's Basketball (and other sports as assigned)
- Supervision of athletic training students
- Administrative duties assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being
The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution's overall program of education. The intercollegiate athlete representing App State will be a bona fide student pursuing a degree program and an amateur competitor.
