West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for two (2) faculty positions in the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CPASS), Department of Sport Sciences. CPASS serves approximately 1,500 students across 14-degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Our mission focuses on conducting and disseminating high-quality research, preparing students to be leaders and innovators in their fields, and enhancing the quality of life for the residents of our state through outreach efforts. The Sport Management program offers B.S. and M.S. (Online and on-campus) degree options. We are looking for highly qualified individuals who can contribute to this mission by working with other faculty, learners, and community partners in a dynamic and collaborative scholarly environment. The College is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
All applicants must be able to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Course instruction within this program uses both in-person and online structures.

The successful candidates must have a terminal degree in sport management or closely related area. ABDs will be considered, but terminal degree must be conferred by the appointment start date in August 2021.
• Applicants for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) must demonstrate a clear research agenda, evidence of conducting and publishing high-quality research, the ability to seek, write, submit, and secure external funding to support their research, and the ability to teach at the college level.
• Applicants for the position of Teaching Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) while having no research expectations, must demonstrate evidence of innovative and effective teaching at the college level.
