The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching:

1. Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum, methods of instruction, and those aspects of student life which relate to the dental educational process as assigned.
2. Effectively fulfill lecture, seminar, clinical assignments, and/or responsibilities as assigned.
3. Independently design and present a course, or portion of a course, utilizing an appropriate combination of instructional methodologies, including lecture, seminar, laboratory, problem-based learning, case-based learning, and/or online modules as assigned.
4. Prepare appropriate student assessments in a course or a portion of a course including quizzes, examinations, projects, oral examinations, portfolios, and/or clinical performance evaluations as assigned.
5. Conduct classes and clinic assignments according to the published schedule.
6. Maintain intellectual integrity and strive for academic excellence.
7. At the beginning of each course, provide students with a syllabus indicating material to be covered, related assignments, competencies to be achieved, and methods of evaluation.
8.. Maintain current records of the progress, including grades, of each student enrolled in his/her class.
9.. Keep on file in an appropriate location an outline and list of goals and objectives for each lecture, including terminal WesternU College of Dental Medicine competencies supported by that lecture.
10. Assist with the implementation of an efficient, patient-centered dental practice that supports the educational mission of the College.
11. Assist with the implementation of the continuum of the dental students’ clinical experience from the foundational clinical skills in the dental simulation clinic to patient-centered care that integrates basic and behavioral science, as appropriate.





Key Responsibilities

Academic Advising:
1. Be readily available to students for mentoring and consultation.
2. Advise students regarding curriculum, graduation requirements, and provide referrals as appropriate.

Research:
1. Establish and maintain scholarly activity in his/her area of expertise, as applicable.
2. Meet requirements for promotion and tenure in the College and University, as applicable.




Key Responsibilities

Service:
1. Serve on appropriate College and University Committees as assigned.
2. The faculty member has the right and obligation to participate in scheduled meetings of the general faculty.
3. Election to the Faculty Council and election to, or appointment to, committees should be considered a privilege and faculty members are encouraged to share in these responsibilities.
4. Actively participate in appropriate professional societies and associations.




Key Responsibilities

Clinical/Professional Practice           
1. Provide direct patient care in support of the clinical and educational missions of the College to allow the College to offer care to the community that may be too complex for students and/or residents, as a demonstration for student and/or resident learning, and to develop a patient population that will support the educational needs of the students and/or residents.
2. Maintain proficiency in the use of electronic health records.    
3. Participate in the credentialing / privileging process, Continuous Quality Improvement Program, and treatment outcomes monitoring, and evaluation systems related to patient care.
4. Develop, Plan, and Execute College-Vetted Proformas for Growth of We Care Dental Practice.
