Instructor Adjunct

The College of Nursing is seeking to fill a full time faculty position with the title of Instructor Adjunct (Represented, Non-Tenure). Represented Adjuncts at the College of Nursing are .99 full time equivalency status (FTE) with 1 to 3 year assignments. Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the simulation and skills labs to provide a wide variety of simulation based learning activities
  • In collaboration with the Simulation Operations Technologist oversee the regular maintenance and repair of all simulation equipment including:
    • Human patient simulators, computers, monitors and a variety of clinical durable medical equipment
    • A/V & debriefing systems
  • Coordinate with the Simulation Operations Technologist to recommend future equipment and supply purchases
  • Facilitate the adult learning process to create a psychologically safe climate to support learning across the curriculum and programs
  • Create, Implement, facilitate, and debrief simulation-based learning and assessment activities
  • Participate in assessment of student learning activities necessary to meet prescribed student learning outcomes
  • Maintain relevant simulation-based education through the review of relevant journals, abstracts, and scientific literature including underlying educational theories
  • Work/Interact effectively with diverse populations, showing respect and cultural sensitivity

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSN required with a pathway to seeking doctorate
  • Hold a valid unencumbered Ohio license as a Registered Nurse
  • 3 to 5 years clinical experience required
  • Experience in simulation-based education and training

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Previous experience as a nurse educator
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)-Current Certification
