THIS IS A 100% GRANT FUNDED POSITION

Appointment:  The College of Agriculture, Science and Technology at Delaware State University is seeking and outstanding applicant for Assistant Professor in Natural Products and Biotechnology for a
12 month, tenured track position that carries 70% Research and 30% Teaching in the Department of Human Ecology.   Description: The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong extramurally supported research program that strengthens existing natural products research and biotechnology research activities and provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to have hands-on laboratory skills and get practical experience and research placements that will readily lead to employment or advanced training in the STEM and pharmaceutical companies. Duties include but not limited to:1) develop a strong, independent, extramurally-funded research program; 2) teach an undergraduate and graduate level courses in his/her area of expertise; 3) develop collaborative relationships in research and instructional programs and contribute to outreach/extension and service functions of the Department, College, University and professional societies. Candidates must be willing to establish inter-departmental and inter-institutional programs that supports DSU’s tripartite Land-Grant mission of teaching, research and extension   Qualifications: Candidate must earn a PhD degree in Natural product chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a discipline related to Biotechnology. Candidates should have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in a professional academic setting.
