The School of Public Health at the University of Memphis invites applications for a 9-month tenure track assistant professor position in Epidemiology with a research focus on or related to environmental epidemiology. The anticipated start date is August 2021. The position is in the Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Environmental Health.
Duties and responsibilities include teaching and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students, seeking extramural grants to support investigator-led research activity in a collaborative environment, community engagement, and serving on committees to further develop, support, and enhance the Division and the School of Public Health. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active research program.
The CEPH accredited School of Public Health (https://www.memphis.edu/sph/contact/index.php) offers MPH degrees with concentrations in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Urban Health, and Social and Behavioral Sciences, and an MS degree in Biostatistics. The School also offers a Master of Health Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, and PHD programs in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and in Social and Behavioral Health.
Position Qualifications Candidates should have an earned doctoral degree in Epidemiology or a closely related field and experience commensurate with the academic rank of assistant professor. Candidates with a background and interest in research and teaching in environmental epidemiology, environmental epigenetic epidemiology, environmental justice and equity, occupational epidemiology, urban health, or geospatial health, are especially encouraged to apply.
