The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a
Full Professor (W3) of Crop Production
at the Institute of Crop Sciences to be filled by 1 October 2022.
The professor will represent the department in research and teaching. He/she will teach in German and English both in the basic crop production modules in the Bachelor's degree programs and in more in-depth and specialized modules of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
In research, the professor is expected to make a significant contribution to the sustainable further development of crop production methods in the “farm operation” system. This includes intensifying and diversifying crop cultivation in the context of climate change. The professor is to take up an integrative position within the disciplines related to crop production. It is expected that the professor will contribute toward the University of Hohenheim’s focus on “Bioeconomy.”
Qualified scientists with proven expertise in the specializations mentioned above are invited to apply. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship. Applicants without sufficient knowledge of German are expected to be able to take over teaching in German-language modules within a reasonable time period from starting work.
The advertised position is tenured. If appointed as full professor for the first time, the University of Hohenheim reserves its right to probationary employment. With equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates with disabilities.
