Job Summary: The Basic Computer Skills Workforce Trainer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction on essential computer skills, including using the computer and internet, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other relevant applications. This position requires an ability to engage and support a wide range of students, ensuring they gain the necessary skills to succeed in a technology-driven environment. The instructor will also manage classroom dynamics, assess student progress, and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learner needs. This position may require teaching at multiple SLCC campuses.

Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in a related field.Professional certifications in computer technology or applications.Three or more years of teaching or training experience, particularly with adult learners.Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.Experience using Canvas and Zoom technologies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues and assist students in resolving technical problems.Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to students with varying levels of computer knowledge.Ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including those of various academic, racial, age, and socio-economic backgrounds.Strong interpersonal communication skills, capable of working effectively with students, lab aides, and other members in a collaborative environment.Demonstrated ability to create a supportive learning environment.Must be adaptable, flexible, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic classroom setting.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during instructional sessions or in the lab environment.Must be dependable, organized, and able to maintain accurate records of student performance and lab activities.Ability to represent the College and Division in a professional manner, adhering to College policies and procedures.Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on supporting student success and fostering a positive learning experience.
