Minimum Qualifications
Prefer experience working with young children (ages infant through 5 years of age). Education in early childhood desired, Child Care Credential desired, but not limited to.

Essential Job Functions
This position is for an “On-Call Substitute Lead Teacher.” Person must be flexible and able to assume the Lead Teacher role in one of five classrooms.
Responsibilities include, not limited to: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning activities for children; communicate with parents on a daily basis (written and oral); supervise college students that serve as Aides in the classroom; light housekeeping; maintain clean and orderly environment; maintain all licensing requirements for the CDC as mandated by the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Appalachian State University.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising young children: meeting their social, emotional, and physical needs. Experience delegating responsibilities. Experience in communication.
Work Schedule/Hours: Academic Year: 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.(teachers ONLY work 8-hour shift, with an hour break for lunch. Teachers alternate work hours (7:15 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. OR 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.) During university breaks the CDC operates on a 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for everyone.
