In addition to regular, full-time faculty, Indiana State University (ISU) hires industry-experienced adjunct faculty for Textiles, Apparel, and Merchandising to teach (online and/or on-campus) courses on a part-time basis. These positions are contingent upon student enrollment and the availability of funding, therefore course availability is on a semester to semester basis. Adjunct faculty are responsible to prepare and deliver Textiles, Apparel, and Merchandising coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to equity, respect for diversity, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meets professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures. Principal Professional Standards: • Appropriate use of ISU learning management system. • Meet deadlines for attendance report and submission of interim and final course grades. • Maintain regular (virtual) office hours to assist students and improve student success. • Comply with published university, college, and departmental policies and procedures and meet professional standards for teaching.
