Job Description Summary
Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tools, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables.

Position contingent upon funding.

Job Description

The Faryabi lab is a multidisciplinary team of researchers who integrate cutting-edge experimental and computational approaches to advance our mechanistic understanding of gene misregulation in cancer. Further information about our science could be found at http://faryabiLab.com. The Faryabi lab's productivity (25 publications in 6 years) has been recognized by prestigious NIH and foundation awards. We are supported by the Susan G. Komen, Conqure Cancer Foundation, the National Institutes of Health including National Cancer Institute and the Human Pancreas Analysis Program. The Research Specialist A will be involved in all aspects of individual projects. He/She is expected to independently manage the day-to-day operations of the lab including purchasing/ordering, basic molecular experiments such as qPCR, immunoblotting, and RNA/DNA isolation in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and Postdocs. Other duties include maintaining mammalian cell culture and assisting with flow cytometry. This position has the potential for significant independent research activity. Previous experience with genomics research DNA/RNA florescent in situ hybridizations (FISH) is preferred.

• Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
