Applications will be accepted until position is filled

The Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials group at DESU is running a research program on the design, synthesis and engineering of nanocrystals based upon group IV elements for optoelectronic and defense applications.

The aim of the research is to design develop and optimize novel nanocrystal and colloidal quantum dot semiconductors with optoelectronic properties favorable for light emission. The Group is currently looking for a highly experienced, highly motivated, self-driven and creative postdoctoral research fellow to augment the team.

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with:

1. Strong background in material science or chemistry of materials relevant for photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications. In particular, the incumbent should have demonstrated expertise on the development, synthesis and growth of binary or multinary inorganic nanocrystals, applied in optoelectronics and photovoltaics. Experience in correlating material properties (phase purity, doping, crystallinity, composition, film morphology, interfaces) with electronic and optical properties will be positively evaluated. Direct or indirect expertise with theoretical simulations will be considered a plus. Experience in device fabrication and basic characterization will also be positively evaluated.

2. Strong background on photovoltaic devices and experience in advanced optoelectronic characterization of thin films. The fellow should have experience with the chemistry of nanostructured materials (quantum dots, polymers etc.) and be familiar in the preparation of setups for the optical and electronic characterization of devices. Knowledge and experience in carrier transport studies of thin films of such materials would be considered a plus. Direct demonstrated expertise of the aforementioned features in the fields of colloidal materials will be positively evaluated.

All interested qualified candidates must apply online through the Delaware State University website for full consideration. Applications should include (1) a cover letter, (2) curriculum vitae, (3) official undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and (4) contact information of three references from which recommendations can be requested. All these components are required to be placed in a single pdf file, submitted to the online application system and must also be emailed to: Chemistry Department Personnel Committee,
