This position must
1.) Triage all incoming emergency cases
2.) Stabilize emergent patients
3.) Assist and initiate advanced interventions
4.) Critically think and apply veterinary medical knowledge to patient treatment interventions as well as recommend adjustments while closely monitoring ill patients.
5.) Coordinate and provide care of ill or injured animals working and instructing doctors, students, interns and other staff, that includes oversight of implemented treatment plans for each patient
6.) Provide support by providing appropriate phone triage assessment and support
7.) Facilitate communication between hospital departments, clients, and referring veterinarians
8.) Provide clinical instruction to professional veterinary medical students, interns, residents, and technicians
9.) Directs unit daily operational activities of Urgent Care and the Critical Care Unit (such as accurate invoicing and providing nursing care for all patients
10.) Maintain availability to offer flexible working hours.
